Harmful Effects of Energy Drinks on the body

A handful of studies and reports already confirmed that most energy drinks have adverse health effects on Human Body. There are many drinks which we take on day today basis without actually knowing much about the ingredients of it. The excessive use of such drinks among athletes made them real popular and thereby, they are wide open in local markets. It has become a serious matter of concern today because of their increased use among kids.

People normally got confused between sports drinks and energy drinks. Sports drinks are normally made of natural ingredients whereas Energy drinks are not.

Ingredients of Energy drinks those are actually harmful.

  • Caffeine : A well known ingredient added in drinks that causes addiction. Caffeine is basically a brain stimulant that makes your brain more active by blocking certain other messages coming from nervous system. Its too dangerous for the human body because it allows your body to do extra work that it can handle and eventually, putting even more pressure of the nervous system.
  • Artificial sweeteners : Almost every cold drink is better in taste and it is made so with high levels of sugar which is definitely not good for health.
  • Herbal Supplements : Some of them are not prescribed to intake in any form. Some drinks manufacturers hides additional information about these.
  • Brominated Vegetable oil : An artificial processed oil made by destroying it with bromine. Bromine is a known Toxicant having no function is human body. BVO’s are banned in some countries as well.

Health Hazards Caused by Energy Drinks

  • Obesity : More than 40 percent of the World’s population is suffering from obesity. Obesity is caused by the high amounts of sugar levels added in energy drinks. In order to digest those calories a comparatively heavy workout is required, which we all avoids. This results into a fatty body which lead to more health problems.
  • High Blood pressure : Factors like lack of physical activity, Overdose of salts and sugar through drinks, being overweight etc. are the main reason for high blood pressure in human body. Since, most of these are already raised by energy drinks.
  • Confusion/Memory Loss : The use of Brominated vegetable oils (BVO’s) in such drinks directly affects our central nervous system and leaving behind problems like Brain Fog, Memory loss etc. This also have an direct impact on breasts, ovaries, prostate, stomach and skin.
  • Sleeplessness/Insomnia : Toxicants like caffeine raise the problems of insomnia by making your brain more active all the time which

    by Obesity.

  • Cardiovascular : Since the body start doing more workout and heavy jobs than it can handle problems relating to Heart are much expected. Other factors like obesity, High blood pressure also increases its risk.

Due to all these health risks, problems and diseases caused by such drinks countries like U.S, Russia, England have started to take strict actions. As an individual, you’d have to think this twice before buying such drinks to yourself or to your friends ” Do these Energy Drinks really worth your money and life ” ? You will get your answer soon.

    I was preferring the b-12 shots however the other energy shots or energy sodas are either too amped up or cause too much confusion. I suspect lowering my i.q.

    I did not do a scientific study on my results. Fatigue in and of itself is an impaired dangerous state.

    B-12 is a great supplement for those that eat very little meat. However these energy shots have a lot of chemicals i do not recognize. I like coffee and drink water. You have to use coffee responsibly though.

    I’ve been drinking a lot of energy drinks and even supplemented with caffeine pills often and for me it made my memory worse. I noticed that I often forgot things, even when I was about to do them and when I was typing something I would mess up random words, write different words than what I actually wanted to write in the first place, having to read through all my comments again to fix those mistakes which happened like every 3rd sentence. I also got some sever arrhythmia ever since I drank energy drinks. Stopped taking caffeine altogether (cold turkey, not even coke), got a big nasty headache and after that I was fine again, never forgotten anything since that and never messed up a single word when I was typing something, also no arrhythmia anymore.
