The verve energy drink is produced and marketed by the Vemma nutrition company, which was founded in the year 2004 by Benson K., Lauren, and Karen Boreyko, in Tempe, Arizona. What was originally called New Vision International, Vemma was soon merged in with the initial venture of the Boreyko family.

The name “Vemma” is an acronym of all the essential common ingredients in all of their products: vitamins, essential minerals, mangosteen, and aloe.

This means that it is relatively low in its caffeine content especially when compared to other drinks. In fact, it has 15 mg less caffeine than a normal cup of coffee.
  • According to their official website, the verve energy drink contains 18 grams of sugar in each serving can which is “little more than what is found in one large apple.” This is significantly lesser than the sugar content of most energy drinks.
  • The drink claims to be a very good and high source of natural antioxidants. Naturally, antioxidants are a very important component of a healthy body because they help the immune system protect the body better, improve blood circulation as well as fight harmful free radicals of the body.
  • Verve has a multitude of vitamin complexes, and vitamins, can be very good for your health. The energy drink has two and a half times the daily recommended intake of vitamins D-3, B-6 and B-12, twice the recommended intake of vitamin E and five times the daily recommended intake of vitamin C.

1) The harmful caffeine

The major problem is that most of the elements and minerals listed as being key ingredients in the Verve energy drink are not even needed or used by the human body under normal circumstances. For instance, the human body just flushes out titanium.

4) More selenium can be poisonous

You should not take more than 400 micro grams of selenium in a day, because an excess of selenium can cause an increase in the risk of developing diabetes and something like arsenic poisoning, with symptoms like hair loss, vomiting, nausea, fatigue, blood clotting problems, kidney problems and so on.

Some people can be allergic to Niacin, which is a core ingredient in the Verve energy drink. The Vemma Nutrition has sold over 100 million worth of drinks a year, but unfortunately, it has been recently shut down by the FTC, for having been running a pyramid scheme.
